
Reggie Price, the Commander of American Legion Bataan Post #4, will be the key note speaker, and the program will include speakers representing the city, county and local veteran organizations.
An Unserviceable Flag Ceremony will be conducted. Anyone having a flag they wish to retire may drop the flag off at American Legion Bataan Post #4, located at 619 West Spruce Street, or at the Chamber of Commerce office, 103 East Ash.
A free lunch for all veterans and their immediate family will be served at the American Legion Bataan Post #4 immediately following the ceremony. Cost to non-veterans is $6.
This year’s ceremony is sponsored by American Legion Bataan Post #4 with assistance from the Deming-Luna County Chamber of Commerce.
The public is welcomed.
Also, be sure to take care of business today, because many offices will be closed Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.
All federal offices will be closed Tuesday, including the Post Office. There will be no mail delivery.
Most financial institutions will be closed Tuesday as well.
And all city, county and state offices are closed Tuesday.
The exception: Deming Public Schools, which will operate on a regular schedule Tuesday.
Many schools in the district are presenting special Veterans Day programs.
