
According to reports with the Deming Police Department, Jafet Vallejo was arrested in front of his home on South Copper Street Thursday morning at 5:30.
Vallejo allegedly drove his grey pickup truck to his brother’s home about a block away on South Silver Street early Thursday morning.
At this time, it is unclear as to why… however, Vallejo began ramming his truck into a Jeep belonging into his brother. Police report that his 48-year-old brother was inside the jeep when it was rammed at least 4 times. The owner of the jeep ran inside his residence and called police.
Vallego exited his truck and took the keys to the Jeep. As he was leaving the scene, he struck and damaged the resident’s mailbox.
Officers arrested him in front of his home on South Copper Street.
He is currently being held in the Luna County Detention Center on 3 felony counts of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, burglary, criminal damage to property and leaving the scene of an accident. He is currently being held without bond due to the violence of the incident.
The investigation is continuing.
