One of the men, Julian Aguirre Quezada, was convicted on seven counts of child abuse and one count of residential burglary. Quezada’s age and nationality were not immediately released.
The media release said he was part of a group of seven subjects apprehended by Border Patrol agents attempting to illegally enter the U.S. late last month.
Then, in a separate incident, 36-year old Librado Santos Ballesteros Guzman, from Mexico, was apprehended Sunday shortly after making an illegal entry near Columbus.
While in custody it was discovered that Ballesteros had recently been charged with sexual abuse of a minor, injury to a minor and criminal possession of a weapon in the state of New York.
Ballesteros was remanded to the custody of the Luna County Sheriff’s Office pending prosecution.
