
The bicyclist – a 39-year-old Deming man – was transported to the hospital with visible injuries after being struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by 38-year-old Evelyn Pastran of Deming.
Pastran was driving south on Klondike at about 3 p.m. Tuesday and was attempting to turn west on Elm when she struck the bicyclist who was travelling east on Elm.
Pastran was cited for a turning violation.
And the pedestrian – a Deming High School student – was struck while walking in the DHS student parking lot by another student – a 17-year-old boy – at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver left the accident scene but was found by Deming Police officers and cited for failing to render aid and failing to immediately notify authorities of an accident.
The victim was treated by emergency medical responders but was not transported to the hospital.
