
The twelve local youth who sold 15 animals Friday night to buyers in Las Cruces were Garrett Borden… Michael Diaz… Brent Hays… Josey Jackson… Kassidie Jackson… Kincade Jackson… Tyler Jackson… Annie Kuenstler… Megan Phillips… Dylan Smyer… Calleigh Sweetser… and Reid Swinney.
Josey Jackson, Kincade Jackson and Dylan Smyer had two animals each qualify for the sale – the most any exhibitor can sell.
Local youth competed with exhibitors from nine other counties in New Mexico and West Texas.
Also… four Deming High students received scholarships at the junior livestock auction Friday night. Dalton Trantham was awarded the Cassie Shiflett Memorial… Raul Perea received the Quentin “Bubba” Preece Memorial… and Perea and Sealy Kuenstler received Southern New Mexico State Fair scholarships.
Local youth will show their animals this week – October 8th through the 12th – at the Southwestern New Mexico State Fair here in Deming.
