
The funds are part of nearly $50 million to be distributed across the state to improve city, county and tribal roads.
The city of Deming will receive nearly $2.5 million for reconstruction of an industrial park business loop.
And the village of Columbus will receive over $400,000 for a culvert which will cross NM Highway 11 at Altura Avenue.
Both projects will require the local government entity to have a five-percent match of the state money allocated.
The Local Government Transportation Fund was established to help local governments with needed transportation infrastructure projects that might not be possible utilizing only local funds.
