
(Deming) – The 2018 Southwestern New Mexico State Fair continues through the weekend at the fairgrounds in the Deming Industrial Park.
This year's theme is: "Wild, Wild West."
On Friday, children get in to the fair free from 1-5 p.m., and Agtoberfest, the fun and educational event for children, gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
Various entertainment acts are scheduled throughout the weekend.
Friday at 7 p.m. is the Barnyard Scramble in the rodeo arena, and a dance featuring Caliente will run from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
Also, the carnival is open to the public Friday and Saturday from noon until midnight, and Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.
Events Saturday begin at 10 a.m. with the fair parade through downtown Deming.
A ranch rodeo begins at noon in the rodeo arena.
Superior Boxing’s Fairground Showdown will run from 5-9 p.m.
And the Junior Livestock Awards and Sale begins at 6:30 p.m. in the livestock barn.
A dance featuring Horizon will run from 9 p.m.-midnight Saturday.
And Sunday’s activities begin with a Cowboy Church from 7:30-8:30 a.m., followed by a junior rodeo beginning at 9 a.m. in the rodeo arena.
