City officials have been repairing damage at the center from a September break-in that left the pool facility badly vandalized.
Insurance adjustors at the time estimated the damage to be $80,000-$100,000.
Community Services Director Wesley Hooper said the facility is back in working order, although they still have some small issues to repair. Hooper added that those small issues should not affect normal operations.
Also, the city is in the process of hiring a pool manager and lifeguards.
Anyone interested in training to become a lifeguard should contact training instructor Toby Soderberg as soon as possible at 575-494-1227. Training begins Monday and runs through May 10th. Lifeguard training is open to individuals 15 years and older at a cost of $55, which includes the course, books, CPR mask and certification fees.
