(Deming) – Business owners should be aware that an out-of-town company has been contacting local businesses soliciting donations for a spring sports calendar.
Deming Public Schools Athletic and Activities Director Mike Ellis said this company is not affiliated with Deming Public Schools or Deming High School in any way.
It was unclear whether the company was misrepresenting an affiliation with the schools, or if business owners were assuming the funds were being solicited to benefit the schools.
Ellis said he wanted to make certain that local businesses were not donating money to a company in the mistaken belief that they were supporting Deming school athletics.
