(Deming) – Luna County Sheriff’s deputies and Department of Transportation officials were called to remove a giant boulder that had fallen in the roadway near Spring Canyon State Park. The boulder, described as half the size of a small vehicle, was removed, but motorists are being cautioned that rocks are falling in the area.
Here’s the area crime report:
Jerome Arellano, age 45, of Longmont, Colorado, was arrested on a Magistrate warrant for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia… Javier Jaramillo, age 25, of Hatch, was arrested for unlawful use of a license with liquor… George Cortez, age 69, was arrested on a Municipal warrant for failure to pay fines… and Daniel Sweeney, age 58, was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Also… windows on a motor home and pickup were broken with a rock at a location off Needles Eye Road… and a house fire, possibly started by a faulty hot water heater, was reported off Luna Road Southeast.
