
Athletic and Activity Director Mike Ellis, a forty year veteran of the district, and Associate Superintendent Mary Lou Cameron, a thirty-nine year veteran of the district, will both be retiring at the end of their contract year.
Reportedly, the district is advertising for a new athletic and activity director, but it appears the associate superintendent position will not immediately be filled.
And Bell Elementary Principal Frank Milo has agreed to become the Director of Transportation for the 2015-16 school year.
Current Transportation and Construction Director Herb Borden will focus on his construction responsibilities with the building of the new high school and intermediate school.
Also, new for next year: every school will have an instructional coach instead of an instructional leader, including two at the high school.
School officials said the change from instructional leaders to instructional coaches is not simply a change in title. The job description for the coaches specifies they will spend at least 75% of their time in the classrooms supporting teachers, especially new teachers.
Administrative interns will be at most of the elementary schools and at Deming Intermediate School to assist the principals with teacher evaluations. Administrative interns are essentially assistant principals on a trial basis. And Red Mountain Middle School will be getting another assistant principal.
