DEMING - Here's the weekly road construction report for the region by the New Mexico Department of Transportaion (NMDOT).
I-10, Mile Marker 21 to 23, Lordsburg
AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently building the bridge deck on the westbound lanes. All interstate traffic is rerouted to the eastbound I-10 lanes as the contractor completes construction of the westbound I-10 bridge. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic towards alternate routes. Beginning Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, Main Street will be closed at 7 a.m. for bridge deck placement. Interstate traffic will not be allowed to utilize the on and off ramps at exit 22. Detour signs will be in place directing traffic towards alternate routes. Roadway is expected to be reopened by 6:00 p.m. Daily hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.
I-10, Mile Marker 24.9 to 35, Lordsburg
Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be finalizing a pavement preservation project on I-10 from milepost 24.9 (Lordsburg East) to milepost 35. If needed drivers can expect lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be beginning a pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction project on I-10 from milepost 20 (Lordsburg West) to milepost 15 (Gary). Beginning Monday, February 21, 2022, drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed. 2 Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. This preservation project was awarded in the amount if $8 million and is expected to take 90 working days to complete.
