DEMING – The public is invited to participate in Deming’s Second Annual Recovery Awareness Walk beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20th, at the Deming Visitor Center, 800 E. Pine Street.
The walk will culminate in a free family event at Courthouse Park with the showing of the movie, “How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World.”
The walk is designed to bring community awareness to people in recovery and show support for those who struggle.
The walk will proceed from the Deming Visitor Center west on Spruce to Silver, then south on Silver to Courthouse Park.
The first 15 people to register Friday will receive a free t-shirt.
Sponsored by the Luna County DWI Program, Luna County Teen Court, and the Luna County Health Council, the walk and movie are open to anyone interested.
Water will be available at no charge, and the Deming High Skills USA program will have a concession set up for the movie.
Families are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to view the movie.
