PNM Line Department Supervisor Dale Stevens said the affected area was in south and west Deming, where power went out just before 4 p.m. and was restored about 5:20 p.m.
Stevens said the Hermanas Substation located on West Pear went out – the same substation that had a problem Friday night, and interrupted power to the same service area.
Stevens said they suspect lightning damage caused Friday’s failure, and Monday’s problem was a continuation of the effects of the damage.
Stevens said they shifted the load to the area’s other two substations and restored power as quickly as possible.
