The money is part of $122,000 in grants from PNM to some of New Mexico’s MainStreet programs. The funding for the state's MainStreet program was announced Wednesday by Gov. Susana Martinez and Public Service Company of New Mexico officials.
Martinez said New Mexico MainStreet’s accomplishments are remarkable, and PNM’s commitment to the program is an outstanding example of how public-private partnerships can work to create the jobs and opportunities families and communities need to succeed.
PNM Chairman Pat Vincent-Collawn said MainStreet projects inject new economic vitality and pride into local communities. Pocket Park, sandwiched between two buildings and rarely utilized, is on Deming’s historic walking tour.
Other communities sharing in the grant funds are Albuquerque, Belen, Clayton, Corrales, Las Vegas and Silver City.
