Line Department Supervisor Dale Stevens said the outages tie back to the severe lightning storm on the night of August 12th which caused a fire in the PNM Hondale substation, located at the intersection of Sunshine Road and 8th Street.
Stevens said that this Friday, September 29th, PNM crews will be performing switching procedures to transfer the load to a mobile substation which has been installed at that location.
Customers on Sunshine Road west of Columbus Road to 8th Street and south to Hondale Road may experience intermittent outages of one to two hours in duration Friday.
Customers on and around Columbus Road from Pear Street south to Elote Road should expect a single outage of 10-15 minutes in duration.
Stevens said these outages will occur between the hours of 8 a.m.-noon Friday, and they thank customers for their patience during the switching procedure.
