Organizers say the silent auction will include 25 pieces of the gymnasium floor – including some large pieces that will require more than one person to move.
Also, commemorative plaques featuring a small piece of the floor and a picture of Frank Dooley will be sold for $50 each.
Dooley coached the Deming Wildcats from 1963 to 1979 during which time he lead the ‘Cats to four state championships and 10 district championships.
He was named New Mexico Coach of the Year for 1971-72.
The original DHS basketball court named in his honor has been torn down as part of the agreement that led to state funds helping build the new Deming High School.
The silent auction featuring pieces of Frank Dooley Court will be held this Friday, May 3rd, in the DHS Auxiliary Gym.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the silent auction will run from 11 a.m. to noon.
All proceeds will go toward the Frank Dooley Scholarship Fund.
