
Pearce said that while federal officials say currently there is no credible information that ISIL is planning an attack on the United States, it does not alleviate the fear for people living on or near the border.
Pearce went on to say that the border remains unsecure and is possibly the greatest threat to our national security.
Pearce said that since he has served in Congress he has called for greater border security as an issue of national importance for the security and stability of our nation.
He said hiring more Border Patrol agents, or building more border fence, will not secure the border, adding that, in his opinion, border security can only be achieved by utilizing a combination of new technology and new strategy.
Pearce said that with the continued expansion of threats against the U.S. globally, it is imperative that the nation secure the border once and for all.
