Sgt. Luis Lobato said the Sheriff’s department has a sobriety checkpoint scheduled in July, although the exact date was not released.
Also, he said deputies working the 100 Days and Nights of Summer program will be watching for traffic violations such as texting while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, speeding and other traffic violations.
Law enforcement officers continue to remind drivers to watch their speed, properly buckle themselves and their children, never text while driving or otherwise drive distracted, and never drive impaired.
