Orosco will serve the remainder of the respective term, and will be subject to election on November 2, 2021. “The Board is excited to welcome Mr. Orosco as our newest member, as he brings with him experience both in law enforcement and in serving our district and community as a whole,” said Amy Hernandez, President of the Deming Public Schools Board of Education. “His expertise will be a tremendous benefit to Deming Public Schools.” Orosco is the former City of Deming Chief of Police, where he retired in 2019 with over twenty years of law enforcement service.
During his time as Chief of Police, Orosco collaborated with Deming Public Schools on several projects, including placing School Resource Officers in schools. After graduating from Deming High School in 1996, Orosco continued his education by attaining a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice along with a Master of Business Administration.
Orosco is well acquainted with giving back to our community, which is evident by his service as a board member to Luna County Cancer Support, since 2013. “I want to thank the Deming Public Schools Board of Education for the opportunity to serve as District 5 School Board member.” said Robert (Bobby) Orosco, Jr. “I look forward to helping a great team of educators, administrators, and staff continue to provide for the students of Deming Public Schools”.
