CowBelle President Madalyn Lee said they were proud to recognize Lauren Nunn with the honor.
Nunn, she said, has been an active member, officer and strong supporter of the CowBelles for many years and, although she is busy on her family ranches, she always makes time to answer questions, help a neighbor or support local youth.
Nunn and her family, including husband Joe Bill and their children Justin Nunn and TamiJo Treadwell, ranch between Deming and Hatch.
Nunn helped organize and lead the Deming Borderbelles, has given Ag in the Classroom presentations, been active in various beef promotions at the fair and at Peppers Supermarket, hosted “Ranch Days” for school children, been a 4-H leader, and hauled livestock to public schools for education events.
Nunn also is a member of the New Mexico Federal Lands Council and the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association, and a former member of the New Mexico State Fair Commission and the New Mexico-Arizona Coalition of Counties.
Lee said Lauren works hard to promote the beef industry and the agricultural way of life, and never fails to recognize the importance of the ranchers who paved the way and the legacy they leave.
