Humane Society’s Sandra Foster said the cash-party fundraiser involves hundreds of volunteer hours, and they have decided instead to use those hours to address the alarming increase in the number of animals coming to the shelter.
Foster said the Humane Society board and staff are working to house more pets longer, network with shelters and rescues locally and regionally, implement social media programs, and develop an active foster pet program to save and find homes for more animals.
Instead of the cash party, Foster said they continue to raise funds through their storage container sale, details of which are available on their website www.deminganimalshelter.com.
They also continue to collect Peppers receipts and encourage donations.
