
A media release from New Mexico State Police said the operation, conducted Wednesday, March 31st, involved New Mexico State Police uniform officers from Deming, along with officers from the New Mexico State Police Motor Team, Tactical Team, K-9 Unit, and Aircraft Unit.
Reportedly, officers concentrated on the area of Deming during the three-hour operation.
State Police Chief Robert Thornton said the goal of the operation was to help ensure motorists feel safe while traveling New Mexico roadways.
Thornton said proactive operations like the one in Deming last week will take place throughout the year, and his officers encourage the public to drive safely and obey all traffic laws.
