Deming school officials said the new Pre-K classes, which can accommodate up to 80 students, will be held at Bataan and My Little School.
Bataan will have one full-day class and My Little School will have two half-day classes.
The new classes at My Little School have been opened to any child meeting the age requirement; students do not have to have a disability to be eligible to attend.
The new Pre-K classes are in addition to the current classes being taught at Bell and Columbus elementaries and My Little School.
Since the state provides $3,000 in funding per student, the district could receive up to $240,000 to fund the program.
Children who turned four by September 1st, 2014, are eligible for the program. Parents who want to register their children should contact the school district at 546-8841.
The Pre-K program is jointly administered by the New Mexico Public Education Department and the Children, Youth, and Families Department.
