59-year-old Andres Munoz was sentenced to 70 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release.
Munoz and his co-defendant, 38-year-old Guadalupe Romero, also of Deming, were arrested in December of 2014 on a criminal complaint alleging conspiracy and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
The complaint alleged that the pair committed the crimes on December 18th, 2014, in Luna County.
According to the complaint, Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at the residence of Munoz and Romero and seized quantities of methamphetamine hidden throughout the residence.
Munoz and Romero were subsequently indicted on March 18th.
On July 9th, Munoz pleaded guilty, admitting that he and Romero had possessed approximately 226 grams of methamphetamine in a residence they shared. He also acknowledged that they intended to distribute the drugs.
Romero, who also pleaded guilty to the charges against her, was sentenced in October to 27 months in federal prison followed by two years of supervised release.
