
Scheduled guest speakers for the program include Deming Mayor Andres Silva, Deming Police Lt. Kathleen Schindler and Luna County Sheriff Raymond Cobos. The key note address will be presented by veteran Dick Hamilton.
Rick Henry will lay a wreath in honor of Gold Star Mothers – or mothers whose children have been killed in the line of duty, and Cheryl Kae Dodson, escorted by Allan Ballinas, will lay a wreath in honor of Blue Star Mothers, or mothers whose children have been injured in the line of duty.
The national anthem and God Bless America will be performed by Sarah Williams, taps will be performed by Bernie Chavez, Fr. Don Heacox from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will give the invocation and Pastor Ernie Vineyard from First United Methodist Church will give the Benediction.
Colors will be presented by members of the Deming High School Junior ROTC.
Veronika Barnes and Leanna Rossi will read the roll call of fallen military members.
The ceremony is set to begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Mountain View Cemetery. Everyone is invited.
Lunch will be served to veterans and their families at the American Legion Bataan Post #4 immediately after the ceremony.
