The video is based on an original screenplay written by Sarah Williams, the music director at First United Methodist Church in Deming.
Williams also produced and directed the video, which features 30 local youth actors.
The video was filmed by Jack Galbraith.
The movie begins at a mythical Deming television station as the general manager attempts to find new morning children’s programming. Scenes that were suggested by other works of children’s literature include two brothers exploring their differences… resolving apparent conflicts within the Bible… the results of attempting to outwit God… a sequel of Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood, and the Big Bad Wolf in a contemporary setting… and ongoing examples of God’s forgiveness.
The inaugural showing of the movie will take place at Starmax theatre in Deming this Tuesday, May 5th, at 7 p.m.
There is no charge to see the video, but seating is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-seated basis.
FIRST CALL is open to all community youth, and is organized through Deming’s First United Methodist Church.
