In the front lobby of the library is a tree covered in paper ornaments, and the public is invited to select an ornament which invites you to purchase and donate a book to the library.
Assistant Director Angela Wilds said the library is able to purchase books from Penworthy and Baker and Tayor companies at wholesale prices to assist with the library fundraiser. Both children’s and adult’s books are available for purchase.
Once donated, a 3x4 sticker will be placed in the front of the book with the donor’s name or the name of someone the donor would like to honor with the donation.
And library officials said a book purchase is not necessary if a resident would prefer to make a monetary donation in any amount. As part of the fundraiser, the library also is offering used books for sale. A bag of books is just $1, and the money raised helps support the library’s summer programs.
Marshall Memorial Library is located at 110 South Diamond Street.
