
KOAT-TV reports that Thomas Manning was sentenced as adult, and will get a 15-year maximum sentence.
Manning is accused of shooting and killing his father during a 2010 hunting trip in the Gila.
He was 16 in November 2010 when police said he shot his father in the head while they were supposed to be bonding on a father-son hunting trip.
Manning was held at the Luna County Juvenile Detention Center in Deming, NM before being transferred to Albuquerque for trial. Before Monday, the trial was set for March 10.
