
Alicia Parra, told KOTS/KDEM Radio that this is a great opportunity for young ladies to be a part of the local fair tradition and represent Deming and Luna County.
The contest is open to any girl that resides in Luna County, and/or attends Deming Public Schools Systems, and/or is a member of the Deming FFA Chapter, or any 4-H Club in Luna County, Contestants must not be older than 19 years of age.

Pee-Wee Princess: K-2nd grades
Jr. Princess: 3th-5th grades
Princess: 6th-8th grades
Queen: 9th-12th grades
Tonight’s mandatory meeting for the contestants and their parents. The meeting will be held at the SWNMSF Fairgrounds at 6:00 PM. It is imperative that at least one parent be present with each contestant. The meeting will cover the rules of the contest and the contestant and one parent will have to sign a statement that they have been advised and understand all the rules
pertaining to the contest.

For the pageant, each contestant will be required to do the following:
- SUPER ATTENDANCE
- A personal Interview
- A demonstration
- Impromptu questions
- A Fair Entry (exhibits must fit within classes listed in fair book.)
- Model in western attire
- Participate in fair clean-up day
- Bring a cake for the Cake Auction
The Queen and her court will reign over the fair and will be part of the 2012 SWNM State Fair Parade.
