Officials say there are more than 80,000 active warrants that have been issued out of New Mexico Magistrate Courts.
This month, the state of New Mexico has encouraged wanted persons to peacefully turn themselves in at any Magistrate Court in New Mexico.
The operation is designed to be a safe way for people to clear their warrants and resolve their cases, without the risk of being arrested at home, in front of their family and children, or during a routine traffic stop. Many who surrender themselves are returning home that same day.
If you are unsure whether you have an outstanding warrant you can check online at nmcourts.gov or by contacting the Warrant Enforcement Central Team by phone in Las Cruces at 575-524-5860.
Luna County Magistrate Court is located at 912 South Silver Avenue in Deming. Call 546-9321 for more information.
