County staffers will offer updates on past CDBG program activities and solicit input on community development needs and suggestions for future CDBG projects.
The Community Development Block Grant Program was established under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to assist communities in providing essential community facilities and decent housing for residents, promoting economic development, and maintaining a suitable living environment.
Successful applications must principally benefit persons of low or moderate income, aid in the prevention and elimination of slum and blight, or address a serious and immediate threat to the health and welfare of the community.
The public hearings are set for Thursday, Dec. 26th, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the commission chambers of the Luna County Courthouse, 700 S. Silver Avenue.
Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
