
Those laws apply to utility-task vehicles (UTVs), commonly called side-by-sides, and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), often referred to as four-wheelers or "quads."
Sheriff’s Captain Jose Martinez said the patrols are being funding by a $10,000 grant from the New Mexico Game and Fish Department which was awarded in 2019 to focus on hunting season.
Martinez said the patrols for UTV and ATV violations will take place this month and next.
