
The proclamation states that Luna County has determined and found that extreme or severe drought conditions do exist within the unincorporated portions of Luna County. Due to the drought conditions the sale and use of certain fireworks are prohibited.
The proclamation lists missile-type rockets, helicopters, aerial spinners, stuck type rockets and ground audibled devices all prohibited. Permitted fireworks must be used in an area that is paved or barren that have a readily accessible source of water.
Fireworks are also banned in areas designated as wild lands… meaning land covered by timber, brush or native grass.
The Counties proclamation governing fireworks in Luna County runs for thirty days from “June 12th until July 12th but may be extended if the drought continues.
