The ranking is based on weighted scores for health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors, and the physical environment.
Only McKinley County ranks below Luna, according to the study. Harding County is not included in the data.
Health behaviors include issues such as smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, excessive drinking, sexually transmitted infections and teen births.
Social and economic factors include graduation rates, unemployment, children in single-parent households and poverty levels.
Luna County ranks 14th out of 32 counties in the state in health outcomes, based on an equal weighting of length and quality of life. Again, Harding County is not ranked.
The health outcomes data takes into consideration premature deaths, poor physical or mental health days and low birthweights.
