DEMING – Luna County officials have scheduled a public hearing for Thursday afternoon to receive input on community projects that may be included in the county’s next five-year infrastructure plan.
A local ICIP – or infrastructure capital improvement plan – is a plan that establishes a county’s or municipality’s planning priorities for anticipated capital projects.
County Manager David McSherry said the county is looking for needs and suggestions for the county’s ICIP to cover years 2021 through 2025.
A draft list of proposed programs and projects for the county’s ICIP includes road improvements, expanding and improving the central dispatch facility and the entertainment complex, park improvements, flood prevention, solid waste improvements, an affordable housing plan, and fiber optics upgrades.
The public hearing is set for Thursday, Sept. 19th, at 3 p.m. in the Luna County Courthouse, 700 S. Silver Ave.
