Sheriff John Mooradian said 31-year-old Chase Hobbs was found hiding in the closet of a friend’s house, and was arrested without incident on a felony warrant for escape from custody.
The location of the arrest was not immediately disclosed.
Sergeant Bobby Brookhouser said tips from the public helped law enforcement track down Hobbs’ location.
Hobbs has been on the run since February 9th when he jumped into an unidentified vehicle and fled from Luna County Detention Center officers while on a work detail in the Chicano Park area, located at Columbus Road and Ruby Street.
Hobbs had previously been arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm or destructive device by a felon.
He now faces additional jail time for his escape charges.
