
The commissioners narrowed the list to five from an applicant pool of 15 during an executive session earlier this month. The successful candidate will replace Kelly Kuenstler, who is retiring next month.
Of the five to be interviewed, only one is from Deming. The local candidate is Charles “Tink” Jackson, who is the district manager of the State Engineer’s office.
The other four candidates to be interviewed are, alphabetically: David Burkett, of Apple Valley, California, who is the city of Hesperia Project Construction Manager… Alan Grindstaff of Maize, Kansas, whose is a consultant with ALG Consulting… Anthony Gutierrez of Cliff, New Mexico, who is the Grant County Planning Director… and Chester Jourdan, Junior, from Port Neches, Texas, who is the executive director of the Southeast Texas Nonprofit Development Center.
The commissioners will interview the candidates Friday beginning at 9:45 a.m.
