
Included on the agenda is a presentation on a flood-control implementation strategy plan to be presented by the New Mexico Border Authority.
Also, the commissioners will consider repealing three ordinances pertaining to animal control, regulation, and vaccination requirements, and will call for adoption of a new ordinance providing for animal regulation and control.
Other agenda items include a Water Trust Board funding application resolution, authorization for Luna County Detention Center Director Chris Brice to serve as project manager for the detention center’s expansion and renovation, consideration of a collective bargaining agreement and payment plan for the detention center, and the administration of oaths of office and appointments of two new sheriff’s deputies.
The monthly meeting is set to begin at 10 a.m., this Friday, September 14th, in the commission chambers, located on the third floor of the Luna County Courthouse, 700 S. Silver Ave.
The meeting will be open to the public.
Following the regular monthly meeting, the commissioners will meet in executive – or closed – session to discuss the county manager’s contract and an internal affairs investigation, as well as pending litigation.
The commissioners will conduct an inspection of the Luna County Detention Center following the executive session.
