
Included on the agenda are three public hearings: one to consider a beer and wine license for Forghedaboudit Pizza at 2020 Hatch Highway, one for Luna County Burn Ordinance Number 84, and one authorizing the issuance and sale of gross receipts tax revenue bonds not to exceed $1.6 million to renovate the former Knights of Columbus Hall into the new Sheriff’s Department.
The commissioners also will consider numerous annual resolutions, including resolutions with HELP-New Mexico, Deming/Luna County MainStreet, Rio Mimbres Golf Course, Deming/Luna County Commission on Aging, Deming/Luna County Historical Society, Deming Public Schools, Southwestern New Mexico State Fair Association, Deming Animal Guardians, Southwest Regional Transit District and Deming Arts Council.
The commissioners will get a report on county properties, and will present a 20-year service award to Bruce Taylor with the Road Department, and five-year pins to Trini Garcia and Albert Mora with the Sheriff’s Office, Allan Ballinas and Otoniel Jurado with Juvenile Services and Robert Barker with the Road Department.
The commission meeting is set to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in the commission chambers, located on the third floor of the Luna County Courthouse.
The meeting is open to the public.
