
The Luna County 4-H Crops Judging Team was deemed the best in the state, with Brannick Sweetser as the second-high individual, Shelbie Peterson as third-high and Tel Pickett as fifth-high. Tee Pickett also was on the state-winning team. The Luna County Wildlife Team placed second in its competition, and Warren Shafer was fifth-high individual. Also on the team were Ronnie Simmons and Zakery Speir.
Avy Jo Stockton won first place in the Agriculture Presentations competition, while Stacy Swope won 1st place in the Self-Determined Clothing category
The 90th Annual State 4-H Conference was held this past week on the campus of New Mexico State University.
4-H is a youth organization open to participants from ages 5-19. Senior 4-H members eligible to compete at state are ages 14-19.
