According to a media release, the goal of the community rally is threefold.
First, to support the Saturday’s women’s march on Washington, DC.
Second, the event is not intended to be a protest. Instead the goal is letting people express what they stand for and believe in… issues like freedom and freedom of speech and religion.
The third goal of the rally is to bring people together to work for positive changes. Making sure our elected officials know what we expect of them.
The rally will begin at Leyendecker Plaza Park at the corner of Spruce and Gold at noon Saturday January 21st. Participants will walk along the sidewalk to the Luna County Courthouse Park where there will be music and speakers.
July McClure is organizing Saturday’s event and stressed the event is meant to be positive and not a protest.
The rally is inclusive and everyone is welcome.
