The 17-year-old boy, who was 16 when he was charged by police last September, admitted to luring children to the porch of a home on South Ninth Street by telling them he was giving away an X-Box game player.
The teen also admitted touching the children inappropriately and in a sexual manner.
The teen had been under investigation for a similar incident with different children which reportedly occurred a few days prior to
the porch incident, and Deming Police officers had been unable to locate the teen since the initial case was reported.
In all, the teen pleaded guilty to nine counts of second-degree felony criminal sexual contact of a minor, 11 counts of third-degree felony criminal sexual contact of a minor, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of bribery or intimidation of a witness.
Assistant District Attorney Armand Velez said now that the teen had pleaded guilty to all the charges before him, he will be
evaluated to determine whether he is amenable to treatment before the court decides whether he will be sentenced as a juvenile or an adult.
Velez said the evaluation process should be concluded within 60 days.
