28-year-old Patsy Hernandez was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following an incident that occurred Saturday afternoon near the T-ball fields and BMX Park.
Deming Police Chief Brandon Gigante said his officers were called to the emergency room at about 4:20 p.m. Saturday after an 18-year-old Deming woman was admitted with a stab wound to the stomach area.
An investigation determined that the victim was walking in the East Ash area and was approached by Hernandez, who was in a silver-colored car.
The two argued, allegedly over pills and/or money, and Hernandez ended up stabbing the victim.
Gigante said Hernandez was arrested Sunday at about 12:30 p.m. and admitted to the stabbing.
The victim was flown to El Paso for treatment of what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
