
Recently, the shelter received 58 dogs and pups over a short time period and is currently full. The shelter is not a no-kill shelter, and the staff are concerned about the current numbers.
Representatives told Deming Radio News that the shelter has 68 kennels and currently is holding 109 dogs and pups. The shelter also has 47 cats and kittens and is close to capacity. Local residents are being urged to go to the shelter to find lost pets, adopt, foster or donate supplies, such as canned puppy or kitten food, dry dog or cat food, and new towels and blankets.
Local adoption fee’s include a veterinarian wellness check-up, a spay and neuter coupon and the pet’s city or county license.

The shelter is located at 2125 Onate Drive in the Industrial Park and is open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday’s 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
