Organizer July McClure said the event was part of the March on Washington and was not a protest, but a positive time to share ideas and thoughts.
The march started at Leyendecker Plaza at noon Saturday and went to the Courthouse Park. Afterwards, the group met in a store front on Gold Street to discuss topics and issues of the day.
The local event was held as part of the Women’s March on Washington Saturday with participation in cities around the nation and even around the world.
The unity principle of the group is listed on their national web page as, “ We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights.
