
Luna County Clerk Karen Smyer said 34% – or 3,670 registered voters – had taken advantage of early and absentee voting by the time the polls closed Saturday.Luna County has 12,612 registered voters.
Smyer said the count was down from 2008 – the last presidential election – when Luna County saw a total voter turnout of 68%, 41% of those voting early or absentee.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for voters who did not vote early or absentee.
