(Deming) – Here’s the area crime report:
Cruz Ortiz, age 54, was arrested for aggravated battery against a household member and battery against a household member… Melissa Ortiz, age 39, of Silver City, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting at Walmart…
Lorenzo Aguilera, age 33, was arrested on a District Court warrant for failure to appear… Sonia Granado, age 41, was arrested on a District Court warrant for a probation violation… Justin Reyes, age 22, was arrested on a District Court warrant for a probation violation… and Fred Groenevelda, age 53, who was already incarcerated in the Luna County Detention Center, was served a District Court warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation.
In juvenile news, a 16-year-old boy from Columbus and a 15-year-old boy from Deming were cited for battery.
And in other news, a 5-by-8 utility trailer valued at $1,000 was reported stolen from Barcelona Road… and nine peacocks valued at $300 each were killed by dogs off Stagecoach Road.
