
Brian Noriega, age 50, was arrested for aggravated DUI… Olga Gonzalez, age 28, was arrested for battery on a household member and concealing identity… Jared VanBruggen, age 35, of Rio Rancho, was arrested on a District Court arrest warrant… Arthur Maynes, age 47, of Tucson, Arizona, was arrested on Magistrate and Municipal warrants for failure to pay fines, and on a Dona Ana County warrant for failure to appear…
Daniel Villegas, age 18, was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana… Juan Carlos Ramirez, Jr., age 20, was cited for minor allowing self to be served alcohol… Jesus Hernandez, age 22, was cited for dangerous dogs… two girls – one age 12 and one age 14 – were cited for shoplifting at Walmart… and a 12-year-old boy was cited for shoplifting at Kmart.
In other news… a house fire started by a wood-burning stove caused heavy damage at a residence off Racetrack Road… a laptop computer and case, with a combined value of $1,650, were taken from a location off South Eighth Street… a laptop computer assigned to a student from Deming Public Schools and valued at $900 was taken from a location off South Silver… a purse with $400 cash was taken from a van parked off West Spruce… and a bicycle and lock, with a combined value of $150, were taken from a location off South Diamond.
And finally, two separate residents reported bullets coming through their ceilings – most likely the result of New Year’s revelry. Bullets were recovered at residences off Dove Lane and Scotch Pine Road. At the residence off Dove Lane, the bullet landed in an 11-year-old boy’s bedroom.
