State Aging and Long-Term Department Cabinet Secretary Gino Rinaldi is hosting a series of four listening sessions in southwestern New Mexico this week.
Luna County’s listening session will be held Thursday, October 30th, from 9-11 a.m. in Suite 1 of the Luna County Courthouse.
Rinaldi said the state’s elder population is growing fast, and by 2030, we will have the fourth largest 65-plus population by percentage of any state in the union.
The State Aging and Long-Term Department oversees a host of programs to address caregiving, healthy aging, senior hunger, and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
The listening sessions are intended to garner feedback regarding local needs from community members including elders and their families, caregivers, and senior advocates.
Refreshments will be served.
The session is supported by AARP, the Alzheimer’s Association, New Mexico Chapter, and Concilio, CDS.
